    You wondered about the "2nd" flower in my "just flowers" post; it's actually just a very young wild Thistle bud! (ohdake ?? is how google translates it)

    These are incredible! Truly amazing!

    Don't let my inexperience scare you away from a 50mm 1.8--the DoF can be tiny, but that is based on being wide open and very close to the subject. Here is a post I did of mostly indoor shots--I'm still getting used to the focus/focal point but I am enjoying it so much!
